Frustrations!

Wed April 30 This has been 2 days of frustrations trying to get my blog up, so I will stick with the bare details. On tuesday, we walked from Estella to Los Arcos. It was a beautiful day. A pilgrim has 2 basic concerns - weather, and what gear to wear, and feet and how healthy they are. I have some red spots, but nothing to worry about as they aren´t developing into blisters. So it was a fine day. The municipal albergue in Los Arcos was our second choice, but it was ok, and run by a couple of Belgian hospitaleros. See my picture of dinner on Facebook - I´ll try to load it. Today we walked the farthest yet - 30 km from Los Arcos to Logrono, and tomorrow we hope to do the same distance to Najera. I got a bit of a burn on my wrist, the sun was so hot today. Here we are at dinner last night.

  1. It is hard to keep up with the 'intrepid travellors'. Ok, hot tip for Logrono, but it might be too late. Go find the priest in the church there and he will take you into the back and stamp your passport. Same goes for Najera, and you get a hand drawing on top of the stamp in Najera.
Pop Quiz, the Thursday Market in Najera has been going on since:
A: the Reconquista, B: Muslims first named Najera, C: Visigothic Times or D: the Celt Iberians, E: before recorded history.

  4. Wow -- how fast are you walking? Take time to smell something:-) I'm tempted to say pace yourself but you know best. Enjoy the scenery and sights along the way. It's all part of the journey!

  5. Today I took pictures of flowers along the way, and nibbled on wild mustard and dill. We walk about 4 km per hour, so today there was 5 hours or walking plus breaks - no hardship!
