IN PARIS

We are in Paris .. April in Paris.
Im struggling with a French keyboard;  cant correct the typos, sorry.
Here is a picture of me and Cici  at Beach United yesterday: It was a last day for her too; she is off to Indonesia and Switzerland; I will be back but she wont.

The flight was uneventful but mostly sleepless.
I napped when we checked into the Arty Hostel here in Paris. Thanks for the reference, Mike. It is the smallest double room I have ever been in. You cannot close the bathroom door while standing at the sink.

We will go out and wander later and have dinner  and people watch.

Tomorrow we travel by train to St Jean arriving about 7:30.
Wednesday morning it is up the mountain.

Adieu
Darlene

  2. Was anything said about the trekking poles at GTAA security screening? Glad everything went so smoothly. Tell us more about the hostel in Paris please.

  3. FYI - Blue Mountain announced today that they broke the record for days skiing. They were open this Easter Weekend. They may even consider opening next weekend. (Hope you don't get any more of this cool weather in Spain.) Today in Toronto was beautiful.

    1. No problem with the poles, though they were definitely in the way on the train. I think it depends on who is working security, as they have nothing to do with the airlines and their policies.

  4. Buen Camino and enjoy a few snowball on the way down into Roncesvalles. ;-)

  5. I am with you both now, in spirit and via the net. Re the Paris room, my mother always used to say of spaces like that -- "you have to go outside to change your mind!". We are walking here and thinking of you. Good luck tomorrow on the mountain. xxo

  6. I'm glad to hear your flight was good. How is the weather in France? I'll be thinking of you as you travel to St. Jean then over the mountain. We were doing it at just about this time last year!

  7. So it has begun. I will be interested on the number of flower pictures you come back with. Just joking. Seriously, though, to help you experience some of the cultural history I will prep you for the day ahead. So in Roncesvalles, go to the Real Colegiata. Go to the cloister and in the annexed chapter house look up. See the the corbels (mensulas) shaped as angels. Now go to the tiny museum (they have two thorns from Jesus' crown of thorns, perfect so close to Easter).
